Courses

The von Liebig Center courses are designed to enhance the effectiveness of Jacobs School of Engineering students who in graduation will join fast-moving, innovative, high-tech organizations.

The courses are based on readings, case studies, exercises and projects. While there will be some lecture/discussions with the instructors and business guests the main emphasis will be on: 'learning by doing' - practice and experience rather than absorption.

  • ENG 201 - Venture Mechanics (4) (Fall Quarter)
  • ENG 202 - Enterprise Dynamics (4) (Winter Quarter)
  • ENG 203 - Applied Innovation (4) (Spring Quarter)
  • ENG 207 - Corporate Entrepreneurship for Global Competitiveness (4) (Spring Quarter)

In addition, these courses may be applied to a certificate in Technology Business Creation through a partnership with UCSD Extension. Jacobs School students in the certificate program may take the associated Extension courses through the Complimentary Enrollment Program.
