Hal has nearly 30 years of marketing, sales, business development and general management experience in the medical devices and pharmaceutical market segments. The first 15 years of Hal's career was focused on product and marketing management within the medical diagnostics field, first with the Ortho Diagnostic Systems division of Johnson and Johnson and later with Becton Dickinson's Immunocytometry Systems division, where he was responsible for the development and launch of diagnostic instruments and reagent kit products. Hal then became interested in startup opportunities and joined Murex Corp as VP, Marketing and Sales where he was responsible for launching the company's first diagnostic product line.

Hal then moved to San Diego to help build the early management team of Alliance Pharmaceuticals, where he spent more than 10 years leading the licensing and partnering efforts as Exec.VP, Business Development. Hal's most recent management position was CEO of Metracor Technologies, a San Diego manufacturer and marketer of critical care monitoring systems that was acquired in 2003.

Prior to his von Liebig affiliation, Hal served as a volunteer in the CONNECT Springboard Entrepreneur-in-Residence program assisting early-stage life science entrepreneurs in the development of their business plans and investor presentations. Hal has a BA degree in Marketing from the University of Kentucky.
