The Office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization (OTTC) at California State University San Bernadino http://ottc.csusb.edu/ announces the opening of their July 2004 CCAT solicitation. OTTC/CCAT is looking for technologies within certain focus areas. Please review the Focus Areas section of the soliticiation http://ottc.csusb.edu/solicitations.html for a general list. OTTC is a partner program of the San Diego Center for the Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT). The Jacob's School of Engineering is a CCAT San Diego consortium partner. A listing of the San Diego CCAT portfolio of prior awardees - including those at the Jacobs School - is at www.ccatsandiego.org/ourportfolio.shtml. What funding and services are available? - (OTTC/CCAT) provides a broad range of unique services to technology innovators and developers. The OTTC's goal is to move these technologies through the developmental milestones necessary for success. OTTC Grant Awards include Research & Development grants ($75K max) and Prototype Development/Test/Evaluation ($75K max). OTTC Services include Market Studies and Business Plan Development.
What is OTTC? - The mission of the Office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization (OTTC) at California State University San Bernardino is to provide exemplary, timely and responsive business and research services to government agencies, private enterprise and academia in order to assist them in moving their technologies through the commercialization process. OTTC strives to be a leader in advancing and transitioning to full commercialization promising new technologies from government and academic laboratories to businesses and from the private sector and academia to government agencies. OTTC's purpose is to serve as a unique gateway between academia, government and the private sector. OTTC strives to enhance client services and benefits through strategic partnerships. To accomplish its mission OTTC works in conjunction with the following key partners: the CCAT at California State University San Bernardino , and the San Diego-based Center for the Commercialization of Advanced Technology . The San Diego Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) is - supported by Congress and funded by the Department of Defense - is a public-private collaborative partnership between academia, industry, and government. Partners include the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Jacobs School and UCSD CONNECT, San Diego State University (SDSU) Foundation and Entrepreneurial Management Center, and ORINCON Technologies, Inc. with support from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego. The consortium-style CCAT intends to bridge the gap that exists between the generators of technology, the Department of Defense and the commercial marketplace. CCAT conducts solicitations to identify promising technologies with applications in Homeland Security, Crisis/Consequence Management, and other national priorities.
